Volunteer Leadership
Volunteer Leaders are the backbone of Volunteer Los Angeles’ managed volunteer projects. When you serve as a Volunteer Leader, you’ll partner with a great local nonprofit and guide other volunteers through recurring, high-impact volunteer projects.
Our Volunteer Leader program will help you increase your impact as a volunteer and develop your leadership potential. After attending the 90-minute orientation and completing the required paperwork, you’ll be ready for the next step: being paired with a mentor at a managed project site.
Your mentor will coach you in the fine art – and the science – of leading a successful volunteer project. You’ll learn how to:
- Serve as the primary contact at each project.
- Act as a liaison between Volunteer Los Angeles and the organization where the project occurs.
- Respond to volunteers’ questions about the project you are managing.
- Greet volunteers and sign them in as they arrive.
- Ensure your project runs smoothly and has the best possible outcomes.
- Complete attendance and impact information after the project.
